  • Do you actually WANT your dog to jump fences and run away? If my dog did that, I certainly would not be standing there and cheering.

  • He jumped it all the time... He wouldn't do it in front of us, until we got him to.

  • so you encourage it to jump the fence. good way to teach it the wrong thing. i hope it doesnt do it when you are out

  • He was doing it all the time. When the dog catcher came, he would jump back in the yard.

  • "emotional blackmail" he jumps it all the time, he just didn't want to do it in front of us. heh

As for the rest of the comments! Cool! thanks!

  • My German Shep started jumpng the fence and I hate it. I can just imagineher getting hit by a car or getting into a fight with stray pits in my neighborhood.I' trying to find out how to stop her from doing it.

  • forget "teaching him the wrong thing". german shepherd's are notorious for having bad hips/hind legs. a fall from that height can be really bad for him/her.

  • The thing about shepherds is you can cheer them to do something when you say to, but theyre smart enough to not do it when you don't encourage them. To all those ignorant people talking smack. I'm sure it would be a diff story with your little beagles. but not shepherds

  • haha my dog does that all the time!! so we made him start doing agility and a few other sports!!

  • @Odbarc ohh ok sorry i didn't know :p

  • @theferry97 Mine took off 2-3 times in his lifetime. They surely run away if they feel like it. It's not really a "I'm trying to leave you" effort. It's a "I'm bored or curious what's over here and nothings stopping me - Oops, I'm lost."

  • german shepherds are obedient they wouldn't run away

  • haha I thought my German Shepherd use to jump fences but then I caught it one day opening the fence while I was out the front... all it wanted to do was be with me hahaha

  • did you get him to stop? if so, how? my dog has a fence jumping problem..

  • tht can damage to his/she legs in the long run
