Since Poland gained EU membership the most obvious effect has been emigration- thousands of people have left for england and other EU countries seeking more economic opportunities. Poland does have some important resources, coal and some natural gas; i'm not sure how much of a role the NATO's fear of russia is playing. The economy is beginning to improve, but it is a slow process, and in many respects poland is still recovering from the nazi and soviet occupations.

Thanks for the great video. What does the red and white flag mean?

@TheTollundWoman how has EU membership affected poland. i know alot of money has gone into poland since it joined, but is this due to nato's fear of russia or because poland has some natural resource worth plundering. i know the powers that be only view things in such terms.
FUCK communism!!!

@Reyludd
communism under the dictatorship of capitalism? I'm a bit confused...

@TheTollundWoman what I mean is that Poland was once under the horrible dictatorship of Communism / Nazism and now is under the "dictatorship" of entrepreneurs and businessmen, like in all country under the capitalism
Sorry for my bad english

@Reyludd
There are definitely some negative aspects of capitalism but its not at all comparable to Nazism. Capitalism is morally neutral and can be used for good or evil purposes, whereas Nazism is inherently evil. I do agree that there is a lot to be criticized in capitalism though.
Your English is actually very good :D
