Bad weather may have led to a single car accident on Terre Haute's southside Wednesday afternoon.
An accident that caused power outages and traffic headaches.
Just after 5pm a car hit a telephone poll on First Street in Terre Haute. Police tell News 10 there were 2 people inside the vehicle at the time of the crash.
The passenger was able to get out, but the driver was trapped inside for at least 45 minutes.
Emergency personnel used the 'jaws of life' to extract him from the car. He has since been taken to Terre Haute Regional Hospital.
According to the Duke Energy's website, there are currently more than 1,600 Vigo County customers without power at 6pm hour.
News 10 has been told they're working to get everyone back up and running as soon as possible.
