    As a woman in that age group, my friends and I would NEVER think a guy like him is attractive (middle-aged, tries too hard to get girls way younger than him, boring). However if I recall correctly, Marnie just broke up or something, which may explain why she misjudged, perhaps she wanted a rebound she'll take anything. He made me cringe so much.
