In this video I had the chance to speak with Jeremy with Puget Sound Solar during the installation of solar panels on a house in Seattle. He does a great job educating people on the importance of Solar and how home can help renewable energy within a http://www.Microsoft-Hohm.com
We used only 6 300w/hr panels to produce 17,500 w/day. The thing which helped us a lot is we used a homemade two-axis solar tracker. It works neat! The light bill is as low as 3.00 US per every two months.

@FreshKillsJustice im afraid the whole modules would have to be taken off, thats why we always recommend to anyone who wants modules on there roof,if the roof needs totally redoing in the next few years because it on its last legs, get the roof redone first then have the modules installed, ideally at the same time, cheaper in the long term because you dont have to pay out for scaffolding again.

@tweety30number11 Depends on type/size of roof/house plus you have to take in consideration of shading,ie abutments that might be in the way of the modules (ie chimneys, pipes sticking through the roof etc),on an average sized semi detached house in the U.K its about 8 - 10 modules

how much can you expect to pay for a lets say 2000 Sq feet house?
IN if you buy this in U.S/Canada you get a tax back from the gov right? (so I heard)

It is not permanent and can be easily taken off as it is put on.

The average household in America consumes 9000 kwh/ year. So a 4kw system would suffice. Which can vary in amount of panels/batteries depending on your price range.

Remember, Just as long as the battery doesn't overcharge and doesn't discharge too deeply too often then you will have good, long life for your batteries. It could depend on the age of your batteries, or maybe your brand of charge controller.
