This is an electrically actuated, twenty-one note MIDI door chime system. Standard MIDI files are saved to memory and played on demand when the doorbell button is pressed.
This is an electrically actuated, twenty-one note MIDI door chime system. Standard MIDI files are saved to memory and played on demand when the doorbell button is pressed.
The MIDI content was created on a MIDI enabled keyboard, and saved as a data file to a custom system using an SD card memory. When the doorbell button is pressed, it activates the MIDI filer and begins sending the MIDI sequence data to the decoder. Content can be changed easily, based on interest and the season. Holiday music really sounds nice!

The chime tubes are vintage Deagan class M (A440), nickel plated steel. These tubes were adapted to mount onto a Maas/Rowe actuator with integrated dampers.
