Tutti's acupuncture session on 17 Oct 09

This is Tutti's 2nd session with Dr Oh, the 1st being on 14 Oct, Wed. He is clearly in a lot of discomfort and pain. After the needles were in place, when I placed him back in the carrier, he started trying to pull out the needles.

So I sat on the couch and cuddled him while he twitched a little, and cried in pain trying to get into a comfortable position. He was growling too and seemed in so much pain, I couldn't hold back my own tears. He finally slept for the 15 minutes duration and woke up when Dr Oh started taking the needles out.

Is he supposed to hurt like that? I thought acupuncture is relatively pain free.

Tutti was likely run over by a bicycle. Tip of her tail was severed, her right thigh bone was broken & left thigh was pushed out of pelvic socket, causing her hip to "warp" permanently. She was showing great improvement after 5 sessions, and in total she completed 10 sessions. She is very agile now although her hip remains deformed. Your kitten may be having nerve issues, so may need more acupunture sessions + nerve supplements. He should recover in not time :-)
