@knausspiano I'ts BARKley. It's a place in London and it is pronounced BARKley. Trust me.

Its the combination of George Shearing's piano playing and Mel Torme's improv that really makes this great!!

@bobbsyjo72 Never heard of 'white jazz' before! I prefer to call this simply 'really good music'!!!!

I had the privelege of seeing Mel live in Newcastle England in an intimate night club. He was unbelievably wonderful. This video brought back such happy memories to me. It only lasts 10 minutes. I wish it were 10 hours! RIP Mel.

No you are not. I'm too a Mel Tormé fã
A Great singer, was Mel Tormé
He was incredible and I hope nobody can pull him out of you tube
It would be like to kill his memory and he you’d die once again.
thank you "dadazee"

I think that Mel and George (who died yesterday) had a wonderful partnership. You see, George was a brilliant accompanist who listened to singers and was prepared to place himself second to them whilst doing this. It is Berkeley Square by the way and not Barkley, but who cares? the music is sensational.

Mel is absolutely the best!!!!!!!!!!!

Has anybody got a clip of him singing "Lullabye of Birdland"? His version is the best I've ever heard--nobody else gets the rhythm quite right on that one.
