DIY Weeksy Rig. Make your own Fig Rig substitute for around fifty bucks. Perfect for smooth filming with DSLR cameras and smaller personal video cameras like the GoPro or Tachyon. Overcomes shaking, bouncing and stilted tracking.

  • yes the frugal film maker gave inspiration, I just added my own touches and Australianised it!

  • Hello weeksy, I liked your video but the title is a bit misleading. What I wanted is a Fig Rig + Steadicam. As you know The Fig Rig is different than the steadicam.

  • @ashnabwa7d "steadicam is a widely used term, this video was filmed, edited and uploaded in one evening, the title wasn't supposed to be misleading, it is a variation on the fig rig theme that allows steady use of a camera..

  • /thanks for making this video. Keep them coming.

  • @lwj033 cheers! Glad you liked it

  • Very nice, but I think thefrugalfilmmaker deserves some credit for the basic design. He made a video about 14 month ago showing how to make virtually the same rig. You have your own variations to the design which I like, but the basic design is the same. Good instructional video though, keep up the good work.

  • @weeksymate this rig is Extremely nice!!

    YET!

your Nikon has a swivle screen..so your LCD monitor goes out on the sides letting u view what youre recording pretty nicely.

But what if u have a Canon 5D? No swivle screen,,,therefore the back handle will cover the screen...so its hard to see the LCD and record like that...no? :\

  • If you put GoPro on the centre mount it will film your hands as the angle is so wide. GoPro up top on this design. Frugal deserve the credit here too.

  • When you painted it, did you have trouble putting it back together?

  • I have seen this rig before like many other viewers but I have really enjoyed watching your take on it. Like you, I made mine bigger than the frugalfilmmaker for better versatility. very impressed with your final result. Looks great.

Great video mate, well done for taking the trime

  • I would really like to see this tested, where can I find that?

  • your a legend thanks for that.. i can modify that rig like putting a view finder on it. but thats awesome. now i can make my own.
