STATE OF EMERGENCY? investigates the past 30 years of film and society to help us understand how to develop a new South African voice beyond the rhetoric of politics and struggle.
We filmed for two weeks at this year's DIFF, with South African as well as international and African filmmakers.
Funding has been provided so far in cash by the Goethe Institute, and in kind by Puma Video (equipment), the Smart Xchange (office premises), Media Film Services (equipment), and Eager Artists (equipment and personnel). We would like to thank also the Durban Film Office and the Durban Media Project for their other forms of support.
