Neil Clayton of the Ripon Light Railway has a collection of Decauville items. He kindly brought part of it to Saltburn to show us, including a rare 1880 Channel Tunnel inspection coach which has been regauged from 400 mm to 15 inch,
We see it hauled by the unique 1909 Bassett-Lowke 4-4-4T Blacolvesley and briefly by the Cleethorpes 4-4-2 Sutton Belle.
Neil explains the first tunnel, which reached 2 km under the sea on each side of the channel.
