Goodbye Shadowbane - Closing Tribute

Shadowbane was a free fantasy computer role-playing game (MMORPG) created by Wolfpack Studios and published on March 25, 2003 by Ubisoft for Windows and Mac platforms. Originally commercial and subscription-driven, Shadowbane was launched in March 2003, and was the creation of text-MUD veterans J. Todd Coleman, James Nance, Josef Hall, Patrick Blanton and Robert Marsa and a team of 45 programmers, designers and artists.

On April 17th, 2009, it was announced that Shadowbane, after six years of operation, was to be shut down forever. Goodbye Shadowbane. Everyone that knew the game and knew its impact will never forget it.

How to Kill an MMO:

1) Have a dumbass playerbase ("we want it to be free to play, but we don't want any means of financing the game no matter how passive either!" *poops panties*)

2) Be cursed with dumbass devs and forum moderators ("hey I have a great idea, lets ban virtually everyone from posting! *snorts another line*)

The death of the greatest gothic open pvp MMO in the history of the genre was 100% avoidable if but one milligram of common sense was ever employed.

No game like it, dark strategic and highly thrilling...

It was like a drug. I played Chaos, Veng, Entropy and Vind.
