Following on from an upload way back in November 2008, some more evening continuity from Granada in autumn 1986, featuring: two showings of their static autumn ident of the period, two showings of the classic Thames ident, programme holding slide for Slinger's Day, ITV trailer for 3-2-1, and an ITV Thursday evening trailer with v/o from Granada's own Charles Foster. ANY AND ALL COPYRIGHTS DUTIFULLY ACKNOWLEDGED.
It's a shame Slinger's Day never materialised as Brucie really deserved the oppotunity of a Sitcom. He would also have been great playing some sort of Private Eye in a Comedy Drama Series. It's a shame for him as he narrowly missed out on leading roles in Films, Oliver!, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Candleshoe.

I love the way he says "supervillains".

3rd September 1986.
'Slinger's Day' has to be one of the worst sitcoms I've ever viewed, Bruce Forsyth went to the extent of being so bad that he was funny.

Redvers Kyle voices the 3-2-1 trailer. Have to laugh at "great prizes" when the Mini appears but that was IBA prize limits for you.
Those autumn 1986 ITV network trailers (made by Granada) are quite beautiful, and remind me of how wonderfully evocative autumn in England was even within my memory, before the hard sell of Hallowe'en began in mid-September. I think it's Charles Foster announcing as well, just with a slightly different voice.
The date of this clip is Wednesday 3rd September 1986.
