I believe that "Marriage" is a union between Man & Woman..it is set in stone and heterosexuals deserve the right to that title..I believe this is why its challenging for us as lesbians to get leniancy, respect, or acknowledgment when it comes to those of us who want to "Marry" our significant other. In this lifestyle we have to be meticulously careful with what we ask for and our approach, it is imperitive that we learn to seek soliderity, acceptance, and understanding in the right places..ijs

I do love this topic and not a lot of young ppl understand why gay marriage is so important. It hard to do financial things when you are not legally married. For example, I had to have surgery and my girlfriend could not come because she had to work. The FMLA law protects a married couple from getting fired if something happened to their family, but because you can never legally be a "family" you are not protected by this law simply because your partner will always simply be your girlfriend.
