My son was in severe pain from nerve entrapment for over 7 months after hernia surgery. No doctor I could find here in PA would do the "risky" surgery to remove the mesh... instead, a 16-year-old was sent to "pain management" & tutored at home.
He also could not keep solid food down & was on a liquid diet during this time. The diagnosis for that was "Eosinophilic Esophagitis" (white blood cells attacking a parasite, food allergens, or a foreign body... nylon mesh, perhaps?) He had tested negative for parasites & food allergies.
As a feeding tube was being discussed & nerve block injections were ineffective, I searched the internet in desperation. Someone recommended a miracle worker in a comment on someone else's video series about how her ongoing pain for 3 years had robbed her of her life... Dr. David Grischkan at the Hernia Center of Ohio.
Within 3 weeks of seeing that comment, my son's health was completely restored! A 7 hour drive to Ohio... one night in a motel... surgery at 7am (removing nylon mesh from 2 entrapped nerves & the spermatic cord then repairing the opening with Gore-Tex mesh)... on the road back to PA by 1pm... 2 vicodin... by the next day he was eating whatever he wanted & taking nothing for pain. I couldn't walk last week & the boy carried ME into the doctor's office.
If anyone I know ever needs a hernia repair again, I won't let them go anywhere else... it's worth the trip. When I picked up my son's prescription, the pharmacist had to ask where I was from because he's always amazed by the distance people travel to see Dr. Grischkan - a guy from the Middle East had been there the week before.
I made this video in hopes that others will find Dr. Grischkan more easily. I took the liberty of copying graphics from his website. I hope it doesn't get taken down for the Rolling Stones song in the background but I'll just re-upload with something original if it does...

@rgas53 -what experience did your friend have at Dr. Grischkan's facility (a hernia repair?)

I first met Dr. Grischkan in 1986 on a recommendation. He performed a re-do of my first double hernia from 1979. I had entrapment of a nerve and dead muscle. He has perfected the Shouldice technique of hernia repair that he learned in Canada. It is now 2011 and I have never had a problem since. I refer many patients to him. He used to perform about 500 a year. I would estimate he has performed tens of thousands hernia repair. I am truly grateful to this humble man. God bless you and your family
