  • You forgot about the biggest issue of them all : The attempts of privatization of city services (like the Water Deparment, Trash Collection Services and Public Lighting Company)

  • @truerailfan01 Thanks for taking the time to watch my film, true. I'm actually going to touch a little bit on the sovietization (privatization) of Detroit in my next film.

  • @CounterRevolutionTV Your Welcome. Great films by the way. I am from Detroit myself. I hate how the media uses the problems of DPS as a smokescreen of what is really going on with all of the attempts of privatization. When is your next film coming out ?

  • @truerailfan01 Yea, the propaganda on the news is incredible. My next film will be out in late autumn, it's going to be called "Our Women: The War". It's going to be about social engineering and the destruction of the family unit.

  • i sympathize, but the doc. is inherently wrong. Globalization is what makes america number 1 in the world. The fall of Detroit is related to its overdependence on the manufacturing industry and inability to shift productivity elsewhere. consequently, jobs dissappeared. Instead of disconnecting the whole country from the world, a better solution would be to invest in education, research and high tech industry... us retreating from the global scene is both detrimental and unrealistic... regards

  • @Maurofelixful America is suppose to be a Republic, so all laws, rules and trade affairs should be governed by the people. The WTO is a private organization, how can private non-elected bureaucrats make social economic decision for a sovereign nation ? That isn't freedom. America isn't number 1, China is, the WTO forced America to grant communist China "most favored nation status" and to give them preferential treatment. That isn't freedom. Read the WTO charter. Protectionism is the key.

  • The same thing is happening in Philly. All under a Black Mayor, Police Commissioner, City Council President and School Superintendant. Don't use the self checkouts. Those four computerized registers manager by one worker, put four out of a job.

  • @CounterRevolutionTV Cool. I am looking forward to seeing it. They did Detroit so wrong & made it look like a warzone.

  • Great Doc! People often forget that globalization doesn't just affect the third world, but actually contributes to the decay of neighborhoods right here in America. I think this is a great place to start, and I'd love to see a full length documentary on the subject. I'm from a small town in the rust belt, we were hit by two natural disasters the same year our largest factory went overseas. We haven't been hit on the scale of Detroit, but we're all in it together.

  • Post Industrial Nation is more like it, America is in shambles and the people don't even see it. anywho... nice doc, this had to made and it looks well done from what I see from the trailer.
