  • @smokinspef Everything matters, but it's the weakest link that matters most. Eveb with only 1.5meg ISP service it could be your WiFi letting you down if you only have a 1 bar signal. In most cases if you have a steady smooth 1.5meg service you can use YouTube or BBC iplayer and games and everything else. If there are dropouts in your service you might imagine you need 50meg, hence why more speed is sought after.

  • @RavenPrecept doesn't it matter more what your bandwidth is from your ISP?? I mean if you or on a low end bandwidth like 1.5mbps your not gonna benefit from any router no matter how top of the line it is. Now if you got an expensive 50mbps or higher than you'll be sure to see a difference excluding the range factor, but then again if someones home is so big that you loose range Im pretty sure they wont mind getting a second router for their palace. I live in an apartment so range isn't a prob.

  • @Corvius47 N is available in both 2.4 and 5GHz bands. The 2.4GHz band is for b/g/n and the 5GHz band is for a and n.

  • From tests that I have done pushing real data over a Windows network N is over twice as fast as G, not 15x. I can get 22mbps on G with a 54mbps wireless link. I can get 47mbps on a 270mbps N link. On standard 100mbps Ethernet I can get 84mbps. However at a distance G is still doing 18mbps whilst N drops to 4mbps. You need a better signal for N to work.
