At Mt. St. Helens geologists learned that those pretty rock layers we see in the textbooks form almost instantly! Implication: the world's sedimentary rocks could have been formed after great flood of Noah. (Remember? Teacher says "millions of years" very slowly with a deep voice to fool the students)
@EIProximo I made a mistake in what I said." It was NOT able to rot away before it was encased". Otherwise how did they know a bat was encased? I can't see how you can explain this? Why do you have to insist a stalactite/ stalagmite HAS to have taken MILLIONS of years? And you still have not given me proof. Were you there millions of years ago?

@jiminiflix In case you didn't know the bat rotting away means it was *slower* than if the bat hadn't rotted away.
I don't know why 'It's a completely different composition' is so hard to understand.
I can melt sand into glass in a matter of hours, do you think this means diamonds only take hours to form?

@alyosha24601 Yes, I've pointed out to you over and over that you've been utterly wrong in every conceivable way yet you still espouse the same ignorance over and over

@EIProximo October 1953 a stalagmite was recorded to grow so fast a bat was encased ontop of it and was able to rot away before it was covered. This was discovered in Carlsbad Caverns, New Mexico. (Mason Sutherland, Carlsbad Caverns in Color, National Geographic, October, 1953, p. 442.)There are many examples of large stalagmites growing on blocks of stone that have fallen from cave ceilings that were observed to have fallen.

@EIProximo Yes you have told me over and over it's a completely different substance. But the truth is that you have blundered with chemistry as well as evolution. CaCO3 is called Calcium Carbonate and it comes from limestone. In caves and in concrete - same. The same exact stuff comes out of solution and builds up, and a stalactite can build up in month. I've seen them in buildings myself. Now I will accept your apology.

@jiminiflix I've explained this to you a half a dozen times
It's...a...different...material.

@alyosha24601 Thats true, evolution is just as much a religion to some. Thanks

@jiminiflix I'll tell you why it does FOR him! At the basis of his beliefs is a naturalistic preposition He will not allow for creation or a young earth, no matter for many scientific facts point to it. Has HAS to twist science to support his viewpoint. Why? It's his RELIGION. He has a religious commitment to evolution. No other options are possible for him. (Plus, ever since his wife left him he likes to annoy me.)

@Kaopsis Lol answer my question, what PROOF do you have it took millions of years and why does it HAVE to?
