I uploaded this clip of Slayer performing their classic song "chemical warfare," live in Toronto, 1/27/87. The drummer appears to have been TJ Scaglione from New Jersey's Whiplash, he had to fill in for the regular drummer Dave Lombardo, because he was on the rag and had quit the band after an argument.

The quality of the clip isn't the best, but if you like Slayer it's worth watching. It's the only version I know of on tape, and I'm sure it's the only one on the web. A friend I had met at a show in 1988 gave me this tape and it wasn't in the highest quality condition even then. When tapes were traded in those days, it was very different from todays digital age. 1988 was the Dark Age as far as media was concerned. The transfers of video went from one analogue VHS to another, and every copy deteriorated in quality. If someone has a better copy of this show, I would sure like to see it, but until then this one will have to do.

  • great video man, thanks for sharing!

  • sorry, the seat thing was in '88. We now return to our regularly scheduled program.

  • I had center balcony seats and I remember those stacks and Tom's words. Wasp were also great. I think the standing thing was because of damage at a previous show?
