its not the gas that you need. its the right air/fuel mixture your engine needs to operate. at a higher elevation the air is thinner so you will not get the same results as running on the bottom of the mountain/hill. thats why on the professional hillclimbs the use turbo charged engines, or something that will force air into the engine and keep it running.
Nice to see the pass and the hillclimb again. brought back some good memories of my time time living there. As for the roll. Ive seen far worse and your recovery was a good one.
