Michael Franti and Spearhead playing Bomb The World on March 16, 2007 at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC.

There were three veterans of the Iraq war who were onstage before Spearhead. They stated how much they appreciated Michael and his positive message and influence. Michael then came out and said that he had been hanging out with soldiers all day and that he had just toured Walter Reed Hospital...He said he wanted to tour it after all of the "attention". He said that there was a war vet there without a guitar that had been loving playing the guitar with Michael. This soldier did not have his own guitar and Michael bought a guitar and then asked the vets to deliver it to the hospital. This was a supreme act of kindness and set a positive vibe for the rest of the night. The band was rocking it and the 9:30 club was jumping. One of the best!

  • This song is so beautiful.. I hope it's message is heard everywhere!

  • I watched him through soundcheck and man was he ever so tired but finished up after some tech difficulties. Talked to him after soundcheck about his visit to Walter Reed then I aid you look beat go get a half hour rest. Asked him about going to the Peace March the next day but they had some commitments the next day in Baltimore. He dragged himself to the bus on that cold cold night. great show noone could he was that tired b4 the show.

  • “In a civilized society, force may be used only in retaliation and only against those who initiate its use. If some ‘pacifist’ society renounced the retaliatory use of force, it would be left helplessly at the mercy of the first thug who decided to be immoral. Such a society would achieve the opposite of its intention: instead of abolishing evil, it would encourage and reward it." – Ayn Rand
