Based on this video, the movement of the locomotive brake is backwards. But otherwise, this looks like a great engine!:)

With this particular engine try to reach 100 MPH :). In a scenario your aim is to complete a set of tasks which you would normally have to achieve driving the real thing, such as keeping to a timetable, obeying signals and stopping correctly at stations, hence the genre Simulation. More tricky then it sounds, especially with Steam locos...
