The Velvelettes were an American girl group formed in 1961.Better known for their Needle In A Haystack and He Was Really Sayin` Somethin`hits. Originally a quintet,group members were Carolyn Gill (lead singer) her elder sister Mildred Gill,Betty Kelly,Bertha Barbee and cousin Norma Barbee.Betty Kelly left in 1964 to join Martha and the Vandellas.By 1967 Mildred,Norma and Bertha had also departed,so Sandra Tilley and Annette Mcmillan joined Carolyn.Tilley later left the group also to become a Vandella.It`s a little complicated lol.Ps very sorry about the misspelling of You`ve on the title.
