I know how you feel, many years ago I started listening to death metal music, and I loved the riffs, the drums, all of it, except I hated the vocals... With time however, it became the best fitting vocal style to aggressive music, and with music like this it became beautiful. Many metalheads will tell you this, I think. It depends whether you are intrigued enough to keep listening, and the same might happen to you.

This is assuming you simply didn't like this specific vocalist :p

To tell the truth mate, I was the same when I first listened to this song.

I was like: "These vocals suck, and they really don't fit".

BUT, they have genuinely grown on me a lot. Listen to it a few times and respect the uniqueness ;]

They are good vocals nice medium between ful on growls and screams as most Melo death vocals are.

this band has what you would refer to as "talent". with so many bands out there trying to be the heaviest or fastest, its amazing to hear heavy metal thats seems to be orchestrated. there isnt a song on this album that wasnt just an idea that got tossed around for a bit and BOOM, another track. they are mythodic and melodic, and i am glad to hear a band that does not seem to be competing with any one else, because they arent and they dont need to be.

That's your opinion which you're entitled to. I can't think of a single other singer that could complement this music so well. Niilo Sevänen, Benjamin Nominet, Bjorn Strid, all good metal vocalists but it just wouldn't fit. The thing about Jukka Pelkonen's style that I like is you're getting the death metal growls but with good enunciation. I think it's awesome.

The guitarist was touring with Insomnium last year. I got to shake hands and talk to them for a bit after the show. Cool bunch of guys! Fins....I swear they come from the womb wielding electric guitars!
