Taner Akcam (Turkish professor and genocide study scholar) has been appointed Chair at Clark Universitys Strassler Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies!

Akcam has filed a lawsuit in the European Court to completely rescind Article 301 of the Turkish Criminal Code, which imposes harsh penalties on those whose views are seen as insulting Turkishness, for example, mentioning the Armenian Genocide.

How can a country have any claim to democracy, when anyone who dares to speak the truth is either arrested or is frightened to step in to that country? How can any country with that kind of mentality be allowed entry in the EU?
