  • Useful bit of kit and a good demo.As my eyes get older, I have trouble seeing exactly where I'm cutting or TIG welding...i tend to wander off the weld line. Does anyone know of a high visibility marker type pen that's good for highlighting the desired welding/cutting line? Could be purpose sold item or just something that you've found works for you. If anyone has a solution, let me know. Thanks very much!

  • @stillbashingmetal for cutting, a silver pencil works pretty well for me.

I also wear bifocals and use a 2.00 magnifier while looking thru the tops of my bifocals.

getting old sux sometimes but as they say..."its a privilege denied to many"

  • Nice Channel Jody, can this machine use a shielding gas or gas mix? I believe mixed gas plasma cutters give better cuts than compressed air.

  • @TOOLCentre The Miller manual states "air or nitrogen only".

  • What shade lens do you use for recording your welding?

  • @GeneralExpert I use different lenses and settings for practically every job. I only used camera settings for the plasma cut but for welding anywhere from 9-11

  • I am wondering how you managed the inside of the 'd' and 'g' and 'o's, etc. When you cut, you cut out the whole letter, but on your finished sign you have the inner piece each letter back in place.

  • @stillbashingmetal I like to use the metallic silver sharpies, they work well on metal.

  • I wish my power ranger lunch box could cut 5/8"

  • A ground clamp would be the wrong term since it doesn't serve as ground, it serves as a return since you do use DC and not AC.

  • Do you know if you can use this plasma cutter on a plasma table? ex. Torchmate or PlasmaCam

  • @dalcazar96 nevermind, I'm an idiot

  • Where did you get that X-cut drag tip? No one seems to even know that such a thing exists.

  • when you said the thing about the plates i had to laugh i spent all day today with my schools plasma cutter going thru the scrap bin and salvaging the side off our AWS 3G and 4G test practice plates

  • I finally tore into my unit and found a flow restricter and air regulater 60psi max, took it all out and put a 175psi max reg and a $200 water filter. I then at max setting &120psi could cut 1/2 at a slow pace my normal fabrication sheet steel of 1/8 down an aluminum straight edge multiple lengths sheared and was flying along making cuts clean and weld ready like a shear. I get 6 to 8 hours out of my consumables now. The air is water free the psi 120 stopping the blow back that eats the cup.

  • 25 yrs ago this was coming main stream, Snap On started pushing them, and I was fooled and bought the biggest they sold 3/8 steel, it failed at 22ga, high cost of consumables the unit ? a Century with a different sticker. An 8ft cut was a tip and electrode after attempting to undo the $2500, I bought a cover and in the corner it went. I felt like idiot and I pay my bills, 7 days later passed from my signing the note, law was 72 hrs to break contract. It set in the shop 10 years, then I fixed
