i agree, jacob is better off without idol, he's doing so well for himself now. it sucks that you can't express your opinion without being attacked. i wish jacob fans and kalan fans could just get along, lol =)

I love both Kalan and Jacob, but just fyi, Jacob was eliminated, he did not "retreat". From an article on CTV's website:

"An evening full of emotion and surprise unfolded Thursday night on Canadian Idol ... revealing Jacob Hoggard as the eighth hopeful to be eliminated from the competition."

All I know is that Kalan performed last week as the headliner at the Peterborough Festival of Lights. Heard that there were more than 10,000 people (some saying around 20,000). Aside from the fact that he is undoubtedly very much well knownm he is truly a musician and artist. He received a SOCAN award for song writing last month.

I agree that Jacob was good without this show, but i do agree with WHY he chose to do it, and really, it was a smart move. going on Canadian Idol to get your band better known, not a bad choice

I still prefer Kalan over Jacob. That's not to say Jacob is not good at what he does. I suppose I was just not impressed with his over all reaction to losing. I strongly believe that you don't need a show to get far, look where he is at versus Kalan and I am a huge Kalan fan... :)

I respect Jacob for how well he has done, I still prefer Kalan because he has such a strong voice, and is a good performer. Sure I understand he has not gone as far as Jacob and Hedley, but I do like his modesty. The only thiing I was not impressed with about Jacob was his "shocked" and almost "disgusted" look when he lost..
