you dont have to do that, all you need is a wii sd memory card and a file in your computer that you want to convert to wii format.

You need to use itunes to convert your music form MP3 to AAC

You can use an AAC file with 1.1. Or you can revert back to 1.0 to play regular MP3 files. I have a video you can watch on how to do this.
