Battlestations Pacific U.S. campaign walkthrough mission 5: 1st Battle of GuadalCanal (Part 1)

A walk through of mission 5.

Hidden Objective(s): Sink the Heiei within five minutes; When you get reinforcements the Heiei will show up right behind them soon after. Both of the ships have torpedoes so switch to both of them and use the torpedoes on the Heiei (Nothing else really works because it is much more powerful then both of the ships). A few good hits should sink it. If you do this within five minutes you will have completed the hidden objective. NOTE: Even if you fail this objective it still becomes a primary objective, so you're going to have to sink it one way or another.

Secondary Objective(s): Don't lose five or more ships; using your units cautiously and keeping them together can help you achieve this objective.

Completing both of these objectives and the primary objectives will unlock the Iowa class battleship.

Yeah I know, but sometimes the AI decides to do something different even when I order my ships around.

This is one of the really fun levels; you've really got to fight, but it's not like you're loosing ship after ship. And for one, I'm able to make good use of ship-mounted torpedos ;-) Probably funniest level of the US-campain so for.

Btw, am I the only one who thinks that the commander of your forces sounds totaly like General Sterrn from Dawn of War:Winter Assault?

I have this game for PC but im guessing the missions are the same so Im watching this to find out what the hidden missions are in each lvl.

I love this game but everytime I play it my brother starts crying about it because he wants to play and I can't get through one mission without me having to tell him that I will give it over to him after one mission!

I got owned, I set both groups to move as one, nope.

I had an Atlanta class CL in front, and a Cleveland class CL behind.

The Cleveland was the flag, it had a longer range with its 6" over the Atlantas 5" guns, but the damn atlanta's AI wouldn't engage ships even on aggressive :(
