THIS IS NOT A TOOL-ASSISTED VIDEO, although I have no proof in this video that it isn't played with slowdowns I can assure and guarentee you that it's legit and not played with statesaves and slowdowns.
At the beginning of the video, that screen is shown to tell you that its "undo count" is 0, meaning i have used no state saves and loads.
This video is about how it's possible to defeat one of the hardest-most probably undodgeable mini bosses in the game while using a password that makes the player entirely screwed when the game starts. I found a way to dodge all of its attacks (thank god the mini boss doesn't shoot projectiles at you) and defeat it quickly at the same time.
This is an old NES game called The Guardian Legend. This game is a hybrid vertical shooter plus a zelda like shooter. You should give this game a try if you haven't seen it before. I guarentee you that it's fun. However the game is very difficult so newbies will have a hard time even completing one stage.
What i also like about this game is that you are able to level up in this game.
In the video displayed is an inputed password of all J's. This is not a bug or cheat but maybe probably an easter egg the developers decided to put it for fun.
The stage you see before you is an incompletable stage. The reason is that you have these keys that allow you to open and go through doors. However, the keys that this password provides you are all incorrect, preventing the player from accessing any outside doors, thus making the player trapped in this world.
To make things worse, the player's unit has only 2 life(hit points), and 1 shield(this is defense point). Any damage will put the player unit in critical condition. However the game offers a special feature what i like to call "last stand". If the unit takes more damage than usual, like if an enemy deals 999 damage and you have 1 life, you'll lose all your life and the game puts you to 0 life. You're still alive and able to recover as normal, it's just that you die if you take even one hit, regardless if the damage does .01 damage(yes some enemies do so little damage that it's hardly noticeable).
What this password also provides you with is unlimited special weapon usage(or so i think). The unit also has almost max weapon power.
You made me want to try this. After a dying about 8 or so times I managed to do it. Though, I needed to have 1 life so i could take that extra hit. =/

DUDE. I love this game So many good memories of being a kid in the 90s. I remember when my brother and I discovered the JJJ password out of shear luck and curiosity. Those were the good days when gamers used to figure things out on their own and not go to GameFAQs and wonder why we don't have any good replay value these days.
I'd go back in time to play these old games that were fun rather than the boring shit we have today. Long live the golden age of gaming!

I love this game, and I can't believe you beat the all J's guy. i still can't figure out why they'd have that code anyway.
