yes that is true, when it works awesome.But what happens if a piece of hardware doesn't install? in my experience you get screwed cause usually there are no linux drivers for the mass hardware out there. if it doesnt work you have to write the driver your self or compile it for your current kernal. kind sucky if you ask me. Linux still sucks to me not because its crappy but because it lacks standardization and common kernel drivers. check out.Desktop Linux Sucks, And What We Can Do About It.vid

I agree. For some reason, after windows 3, they do not count the non NT kernel releases like windows 98 and ME. At least that is the way it seems.

To say Linux does not have good drivers is pretty bogus. Load up openSUSE, for instance, on an average PC and everything is recognized and configured at the time of installation. With Windows you will go through a stack of CDs getting everything working right because the drivers are not included with the OS. After that you will go through a stack of application CDs because nothing comes with it. Not even a basic office suite. This is a fact, not an opinion.

linux is a joke. The only real linux competition comes from ubuntu. Other than that linux is crap. you got a ton of different distributions with little or no standards. its all a mess. Not only that linux has piratically no driver support for it.
