I have been traveling for more than twenty years now . Ten over land and ten by sea.
Being a stranger in a strange land, observing all this strangeness is still one of the biggest rewards of all. I am in love, especially with chaotic, sensual places that challenged me. I want to see more, to smell more, to taste more, to know more. The wealth of experience I have accrued in the course of twenty years of travel still surprises me sometimes -- I have climbed some of the longest rock walls on the planet. I have been diving with hundreds sharks, whales and occasionally with some of the rarest creatures on earth. I have been down a thousand feet in a submarine and jumped hundreds of times out of airplanes. I have circumnavigated the planet three times over in miles on an engineless yacht. I have crisscrossed the U.S. in search of high mountains and the lone solitude of deserts. I have been left stranded in dozens of train stations, airports and bus terminals and side walks around South Asia, Europe and the Americas. On my journeys, I have joined beggars and kings, sea gypsies and nomads, pilgrims and soldiers, secret agents, pirates, hippies, artists and prophets. In all appropriateness... possibly .... everyone put up with me longer than I probably deserved.
There is no end to what you can see, what you can ask, where you can go.
Time and time again I have had the great privilege to ask questions, burrow into people's lives only to set out once more on a new adventure.
This is Episode 7 "Why I Travel" - in essence, to become a young fool again -- to slow time down and get taken in, and fall in love once more.
Enjoy.
