Sorry for the bad quality. This video explains a "bug" or "feature" introduced by version 3.1.1 of the iPod Touch/iPhone firmware, where the iPod controls are no longer accessible via double-tap of the "home" button in apps with sounds. This never existed prior to version 3.1.1 of the firmware, so I'm hoping Apple changes it back. More info here: http://www.macgasm.net/2009/09/14/dont-upgrade-iphone-3-1-1/
download supreme preferences 3.0 and then go intoMobile substrate > supreme substrate > supreme iPod controls = ON.
works like a charm, it's not a new bug, been out for ages.

You are assuming we have jailbroken products. Mine is not. Further, this is a new bug from 3.1.1 as it did not exist in any firmware 2.x versions.
I suppose though that if Apple doesn't give a damn about fixing it, more people should get jailbroken iPhones/iPod touches because Apple has no desire to fix a perfectly legitimate issue.
But until then, this isn't a workaround that is viable for those who choose to take the "ethical" path with their devices.
