New story-ish. I already uploaded three chapters of this earlier, but it wasn't Jelena. I hope you like it! I'll be posting this daily, if not, every other day. :)

Selena trudged through the snow and wound up at the steps of a cabin. She stared up at it as her anger transitioned into rage. She looked down the side and saw couple more rows of cabins. Narrowing her eyes, she could spot a small street with a variety of small shops splattered in the location. She turned around to stare at her struggling dad. "You've got to be kidding me, dad," she said, watching the cold air circulate in front of her in the icy night.

She looked up and noticed that the sky was a deep purple color and a few street lamps were on. "They don't even have street lights here!" She accused the new town and crossed her arms across her chest, waiting for a reply from her dad.

He just looked at her after lifting a box. "A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do, Sel. You like that chicken parmesan on your plate don't you?" He nodded toward the other side of the car. "Now help me with the boxes and we'll make some of that tonight, together."

Selena let out a soft groan as she watched her father head inside their new home. She walked over to the other side of the car reluctantly, almost like she had reluctantly moved to Colorado. She did understand that her dad had no choice but to say yes to a job offer down here in Colorado. They used to live in South Dakota previously and the city there was completely different than where they were at now.

"He could have at least chosen a different city," she murmured to herself violently. Was this even considered a city? Maybe a really small one, otherwise she would go with town. All she knew was that they were close to the mountains because it snowed here almost year round, she had heard. At least that was an excuse she found came in handy for dragging her dad to the mall to buy a lot of new clothes for winter. They had gotten to spend Christmas with her mom and sister back in South Dakota and flew out four days later. So now, here they were on the 29th in their new home in Boulder, Colorado.

Looking down at her feet, she came between having to choose from a smaller box and a bigger one. She rashly reached for the bigger one and regretted her decision when she lifted it up. She couldn't see anything that was in front of her. Sending a silent prayer to God, she took a few steps—only in the wrong place. The soles of her boots came in contact with smooth ice which sent the box falling down along with her. She closed her eyes, wishing that her contact with the ground wouldn't hurt as much, but it never came. Instead, strong hands held onto her and lifted her back up. She wrapped her arms around the body absentmindedly and helped position herself upright.

After brushing off some of the snow, she looked up at the person and found herself staring into the most beautiful caramel colored orbs she had seen. Realizing that his view of her dark brown ones wasn't so satisfying, she looked down and picked up the box again, lowering it down a little this time so she could see in front of her. "Thank you," she said softly, sending a smile toward his way.

His smile nearly melted her.

The boy lowered his snow hat on his head and looked at the cabin toward the left of him and then averted his gaze back to Selena"You new here?"

"If you couldn't tell," she nodded, letting out a small laugh. "But yeah. Is it obvious?" she asked, biting her lower lip gently.

This caused the boy to grin. "Very. But, luckily for you, it's cute. I'll see you around." He sent her a slight nod and turned around to head away. He turned around once more and started walking backward, keeping his eyes on Selena, "Be careful, by the way," he let out, before turning around and catching up with his friends.

Maybe this move wasn't so bad after all, she thought.
