Bioptic Driving Movie

Produced by the Low Vision Centers of Indiana , this movie explains the steps in becoming a bioptic driver, who is a good candidate and the training to become licensed. Animations explain how the bioptic is used. The movie is an ideal starting point for someone interested in bioptic driving. It features Dr. Laura K Windsor, patients of the Low Vision Centers of Indiana, and Sue Henderson, a driving rehabilitation specialist from South Bend Memorial Hospital.

The movie is designed to present a good overview of the process of becoming a bioptic driver and the impact it has on patients lives. The doctors of the Low Vision Centers of Indiana have fit hundreds of bioptic drivers.

I am actually in a bioptic driving program in Charleston,WV right as I write this. Its a great program for people who are visually impaired ether from a accident or from birth. I am 19 and I have been impaired since birth and I thought I was never going to drive until about 6 months ago when I was doing some research and found this place. I believe that these programs don't get the support that they deserve. So far the program has help me alot and hopefully in two weeks I'll be driving home.
