How much data transfer does it really need to get an 'assisted' fix ? I'm guessing far under a single megabyte. For me that costs me less than making a 10 seconds phone call. It doesn't really bother me that I have to spend that tiny amount to get a fix under 5-15 secs.
Since I don't have a separate Garmin device and have only tried Garmin XT on my n82, I can say that OviMaps is much faster and more responsive than Garmin interface; Garmin may however run better on a Garmin device though.

Garmin starts much faster outside.. And if you start it at the same location where you turned it off ;) Anyway, you don't need it inside

It is free if youre on contract like me, i have unlimited inclusive wap and 3g so it dsnt cost me a penny more.

You pay a montly cost for having that connection, so, it's not even close to free. ty

Dude, the point here its not what you are talking about. Both gps have about the same signal, the point here is that the nokia is configured to get the sattelites signal via gprs too, that means that it aquires the signal preety faster, but it will cost you some money.
There's a way of making it completely free, but the signal will need more time to fix.
Reply if you don't know how.

Brkix, you answered the question i was having in mind. I am quite new to this GPS tech. I've been making some colored prints of satellite photos in my country to help me on my planned vacation this Jul'08. Anyway, I said, why not I buy a GPS instead of doing the PrintScreen and pasting in Word, and writing the text on the printed maps (I get the text portion from Wkmapia). So you will notice, I want to save money. But I guess I can afford a Garwin. But hey, with a N95, I will save a lot. Thks.
