No, he wasn't chosen, he chose himself. He'd had the idea for the film along time ago, and as I recall, this was the sole purpose for him becoming a filmaker... And I seriously had no idea he directed the resident evil movies, turns out he's more well-known than I'd anticipated... I also had no idea that he directed Deathrace, even though I kinda grew up with AVP, and kinda wanted to see deathrace from a distance, I don't see why AVP was as gritty or action packed as Deathrace is.

The first ever AvP comic, the predator allied with a human but their was a reason it like in this one. Obviously you dont know shit about this movie nor the comics. To the average movie lover, this movie was not very bad, but it wasnt good either. Personally I didnt like this movie, I thought the second one was better, despite the lack of character development. I would research my material first before making a review. It really shows.
