The purpose of this video is to help people understand how a person with albinism sees the world around them. It highlights the four factors that affect the vision of a person with albinism - Photophobia, Nystagmus, inability to see find detail and poor depth perception.

  • CraziAlchemist, can you send me your friend's name/facebook profile privately? I have a group for adults with albinism on Facebook, she may like to join.

  • Hi Jamie!!! Thank you. Great to get the word out there, albinism is very misunderstood. I had so much fun with your Mum this weekend, she is the coolest friend. I don't know anyone else who laughs as much as her !!!!! Hope you are having fun together :)

  • Thank you to all who have shared and appreciated my video. I am very happy that it is proving to be useful and helpful.

  • I, like CraziAlchemist have the same friend. She's right about everything, she takes the jokes so lightly, even using blind jokes on herself, and though I have known her since 2nd grade, I never knew about any of this. This really hit home for me, since she is one of my best friends. It really made me look at this from a whole new perspective...

Haha, I guess I'll be holding my 'seeing-eye-friend' position more close to my heart.

Whats the name of the song in the background?

  • My friend has albinism and she posted this on facebook for us to view. We're always joking around about her vision, but I never knew that this is what she actually sees. She's an amazing artist though and we love her. She's so special and amazing, her art is phenomenal. I'm honored to know her and now I have a bit of perspective on how she views things with her albinism.

  • @iluvmypuddycat Yeppppp.

  • Thank you very much for pulling this together.

  • @UncleApothecary Out of curiousity, is it titled Brainbent?

  • I first saw this at my friend's house and when I saw it, I broke down and hugged her, crying. This video is perfect to teach people about albinism, but I cry every time I see it. People with albinism are beautiful. NEVER let anyone tell you all otherwise. Those of you are so beautiful, and anyone who says otherwise must have no clue what true, natural beauty is

  • Yo, this is being used on a site that tells the story of many fictional people receiving emotional help for many mental issues. One of them is seventeen and an albino. I just came here because it made me curious. Thanks man, the more you know. I never even knew people with albinism had vision issues until that site, and this really drives it home.

  • @contractor2425

same with me. my daughter is 15 months, and she gets frustrated especially in grocery stores, in sunlight, and steps. i usually am so sad not knowing exactly how she sees things. this helps! im going to go hug her now!
