Obama's waiting to see how the Afghan election pans out. We can't very well partner up with a figure head who stole the election (Karzai, who W and Chaney installed), can we? We have to have a popularly elected Afghan president to help us carry out proper, lasting nation building.
Chaney and W had 7 years to accomplish anything meaningful in Afghanistan; instead they started a bogus war to clean up the mess they created in the first place by installing Sadam Hussein in Iraq.
