@Haktsu Metroid was estimated 20 years or so after K-2L. So, this is the older Ridley Samus faces. Then he is rebuilt into Mechanical Ridley in Zero Mission. Prime series he's rebuilt as Meta-Ridley. Super Metroid, yet again another rebuilt Ridley.
She never once faced the original Ridley that had killed her parents except for now. The young, original Ridley. And, the manga clearly show with her flashbacks to K-2L that she has PTSD.

@Sylux8675309 No, actually I wasn't. But wouldn't she have shown signs of that in one of the older games, somehow? Irregardless, that moment in the game still felt awkward.

@chaincat22 The final boss was added in as a fan fav. I am personally happy that Phantoon was there. VERY, fun fight!

@Haktsu You're aware that Samus has PTSD right? And, this was not a rebuilt Ridley either. It was the original. So, I can understand why it would kick in. (All she has fought are Space Pirate remakes.)

I read the manga quite a while before playing this game, so I really did expect her to be that kind of character. In fact, I WANTED her to be that kind of character. I'm really all for Samus losing her 'statue' projection.

@chaincat22 They never seem to judge Nintendo's games based on what they are. I think they're biased towards Nintendo because it won't get on the HD graphics bandwagon. The only games from the company that really suck are from third-party developers who don't give a rat's ass about the games they make as long as the Wii Remote can be incorporated into them.
