When You Wish Upon a Star (Pinocchio) - Spanish subs & trans

It took a few tries, but it's finally up! I was supposed to go back to college (where I can't upload) today, but bad weather has postponed me a day. Let me know what you would like me to upload the next time I'm home (mid-March)!
Pinocho (the Spanish name) is the only Disney animated film that has never been dubbed in Mexico. Its only dub was produced in Argentina, and since I lived there for a month, this dub is special for me. And I love Jiminy Cricket's voice here! His Spanish name is Pepito Grillo, which means "Joey Cricket"; a closer translation of the original name might be "Diego Grillo," which I don't like as much as Pepito.

"Sino" is also new to me - I couldn't help smiling, because it means "bell" in Portuguese (oh, I'd never manage to translate this song, it seems); "sina" would be the Portuguese equivalent.

I love the way he sings "de tiempos idos" and "lo hará su luz", these lines sound so melancholic and beautiful at the same time!

I didn't know it was called "Pinocho", that sounds cute :)

@BRDisney "Illusion" in English can mean a bunch of things. It would sound bad in Portuguese! I think I've heard "sino" as "bell" before in Portuguese...HOND, maybe?

And I like those lines, too! What is this called in Portuguese?

@ChanahEmiliania It totally would! "Well, if your illusion is that big, you can go and try to talk to that star... pfff!" or "in a ray of illusion/fantasy/drugs?, the blue star comes to you"... That's just mean! :P

Yeah, it must have been on HOND, they say this word a thousand times... The movie even starts with "Dobram os sinos, Paris despertou..." :D

It's called "Pinóquio" in Portuguese. According to the Google Translate lady, it sounds like "peen-awkyu" or "peen-awcue" :P

@ChanahEmiliania I'm not sure I understand your question... :( But if you can't imagine what "Pinóquio" sounds like, you can type "peenawkyu" in Google Translate, choose English and click the listen button (it's at the bottom of that... typing box). It's close to the Portuguese pronunciation :D

I didn't know "ilusión" could be used like that. Our "ilusão" means only "illusion", "delusion" and maybe "fantasy" - never "hope", "wish" or "desire". You see, if someone translated this song automatically into Portuguese, the lyrics would be sooo mean! :)
