So I booted up Super Mario World one day and found this. Not sure what led to this. Note that this is an unedited ROM.

  • You do realize the intent of this was to show off the glitch, and not to show off skill, right?

  • There's also an invisible Red Switch in Valley of Bowser (read World 7) that you can only see if you're viewing it with Lunar Magic, and another one that you can only reach by using cheat codes to go to the warp to Special World before the event that triggers when you get the secret exit of Star World 5 and replaces it. It shows "test" made of turn blocks, and a cut off ledge.

But I didn't know about this. Why would there be a hidden level on the Overworld version of Yoshi's Island?

  • omg you can grab the baseballs with yoshi i never knew that

  • Think I'll shed some light on this. Naka is correct in that this is an unedited ROM, and how he started off there I will never know. If you can reproduce it, let me know what you did.

#2 Morton's Plains actually exists in the non-hacked game. According to Lunar Magic, it is level 017, and is an exact copy of Donut Plains 1 with the wrong tileset (hence the glitchy background). Level info states that no event happens after level clear, so unless Mario reset himself on reload, you're stuck.

  • Unusual... this is an exact copy of one of the courses, but with a glitchy background. Weird.

  • Mario became giant and now it's attacking yoshi's island.

But yes, i also noticed the level. I wonder why it was left with the name? Oh well. Nice video

  • Its a copy of the original level 6 and why so much satic

  • no dialog?
