Hi I am doing these cupcakes today and I am only giving them on Tuesday, where would be best to keep them stored? In the fridge or on the counter in a container?

@emmy144 You can keep them in the refrigerator or in a container on the counter, they will most likely taste fresher in the fridge. The only concern I have is the cookie absorbing the moisture of the frosting and going soft on you and the candy beak colour maybe bleeding into the frosting if refrigerated and then brought to room temp.

Best option would be to make cupcakes, frost them, store them in fridge and add decorations day of giving (prepare eyes ahead of time).

@emmy144 .....keep some frosting on the side to use as "glue" if the frosting has crusted and the cookies won't stick.

I made these for my daughter's preschool class for Valentine's day and they were a hit. I also used the cooked frosting that you recommended. The frosting is going to be the only type of frosting I am going to use from now on. Thanks.
