SHANZA PHOTOSHOOT

The theme of the February 2010 issue of 110 Magazine is Romance. I was assigned to take photos of a few wedding dresses in the fitting area of His and Hers Formal Wear in Brentwood, CA. As I researched the boutique I saw that almost all previous stories on the vendor featured the same images in the same part of the store. This just wouldn't work for me. So I decided that I would choose individuals from Model Mayhem with a variety of ethnicity, secure a limousine and shoot images both in and outside the store making use of the local cinema, fountain and fall foliage. I arrived at 7:30am and after coning off the parking spaces in front of the venue. I began taking photos of the street in case I required them later for photoshop surgery. I then assembled my soft box and stands as the models and proprietors arrived. A thick dense fog hung in the air and was a blessing as it served to diffuse the light and obscure some unsightly building and structures. The store owners, Annette and Suzanne, warmed to shoot quickly and proved invaluable in prepping and grooming the models between setups. After watching the videos (this is the first) I think you will be amazed what we were able to do on a pretty ordinary suburban street with the amazing talents of Shanza, Kenya and Rudy...ENJOY
