VINYLMANIA, WHEN LIFE RUNS AT 33 REVOLUTIONS PER MINUTE is a 75/52 minute documentary film that explores the old and new passion for records in the 21st century. An original and ironic perspective on vinyl obsession and interest, the documentary is the film director's personal journey into the world of music as he sets out on a global road trip to find out just what role vinyl records play in today's largely digitally dominated music world.
"It is about the search for an identity, a cry against fast food music", says director Paolo Campana, vinyl collector and DJ himself. "Working on the music scene I began to ask myself, why this fever that comes along with vinyl? What is this irresistible force that makes us need to collect and possess records?"
