@BralorSkirata Tarja came first. However, the first song I heard was Amaranth.

But yeah, Tarja was with them for a great many years. Then Dark Passion Play, the first album with Anette. That album was released in 2007 and the new album, Imaginaerum (previously called Imaginarium) was released in 2011/12.

@jreed43103 To be perfectly honest I like them both the same amount. Tuomas has composed his albums to work for the vocalist that is leading the band. But one thing I do think is that people must stop comparing the two singers. Tarja isn't coming back, and she has been gone since the album Once. Anette has done really well, and the new album Imaginaerum really allows her to cast her voice. And Tarja wasn't as good live as she was in recordings. Anette is good in recordings and live.

Tbph I like them both but I don't know who I prefer. The first ever song I heard by Nightwish was Amaranth. I love Anettes voice. She sounds the same live. Tarja needed her voice electronically fixed for albums.
