This is somewhat "blackmailing" conservatism in general and "cutting everyone under one line"; which is wrong. I, personally am proud to be a liberal conservative, in the way that I support Laissez faire and modern western liberal attitudes towards thing such as same-sex marriage, however, frown upon abolishment of aged working institutions and personally I think that is at this current time (when commie utopia is impossible) that it is the best solution.

@ubulunikum Here in Canada the parties are named the Conservatives and the Liberals (and the New Democrats)

The Conservative party rose from evangelical reform roots and are as bad as America's republicans in terms of social attitudes. The "Liberal" party is pretty centrist, slightly to the right, or Liberal-Conservative I guess.

Sooooo... when do we all overthrow these "representatives" in order to establish TRUE DEMOCRACY? Direct Democracy: where everyone gets to vote on all the important issues!

If we can bank online, we can establish transparent voting online...cost effective! Free internet to all!

I personally find "secret" ballots an obstacle to a free society...I am willing to put my name in public view for informed votes I make...I stand up for what I vote for...every vote accountable.

Where the hell is the party which represents the fiscal conservative / social liberal voter? Which is a rather large chunk of the Canadian public. Apparently we get to chose from one extreme or the other.... And THEN there's the "Liberal Party of Canada", who like political chameleons have long claimed to represent THAT particular demographic, but once elected, they just do their own thing, like all parties tend to do...
