my 66 has the exact same interior but my car is a 3 speed

We rebuilt the 289 this summer and it runs great and sounds good as well, we have had fun tinkering with it. Hope to put more money into it as we can. it belongs to my son and he drives it every day.

oh and gas mileage...i get approx one "thumbs-up" per mile. Sometimes even more!

@ElLeonidas2009 Yep! Your right about the stereo, It was like that when we got the car and who ever cut it out for the stereo did a terrible job, Ticks ME OFF!!! every time I look at it. Hope to correct it sometime in the future.

Great car! I got a 66 GT that's black with a red GT stripe! I did the interior in Red Pony, and I was going to keep it the original aqua with white and aqua interior, but I wanted to make it like the Stang that I had in High-School! Don't ever sell this car, because this isn't a car that looses value over time! Five years from now that friend in the pimped out BMW (we all have one) will be riding in a piece of crap! i got me a '66 too. Got the original Am 8 track Stereo Phonic system with speakers in the door. 289 auto trans. Deluxe seatbelts, Visability Package, Tinted windshield and California Emissions. I took the emissions off yrs ago, but got it all still. Might put it back on one day. I love it when people say "What is that thing" Having the emissions on, makes it hard to work on tho. Mines Arcadian Blue. Love cruisin in it. Aint nutin better!!
