Back in the day, cars were't unveiled until a certain date. This ad was run before the '59 Chevy release date and is a spoof on the subliminal suggestion theory. It would have been run in Fall, 1958 as the '59s were released on October 16, 1958. Prettly lame ad. However, the new model release was a big deal. My dad was a Ford man and he would pack us in the car to go see the new models every year.
Pat Boone was always a putz, but boy Dinah was so attractive and charming. No wonder she was on TV for ages.
