British journalist Simeon Tegal outlines the environmental issues spanning Latin America due to climate change in the region.

According to a report recently published by the Inter-American Development Bank, the cost of climate change to Latin American Nations will total 100 billion dollars per year by 2050. Such losses will most notably include a drop in food and agricultural exports, a spread of diseases, and a decrease in tourism.

Currently, many of the most noticeable impacts of climate change are occurring in remote and inaccessible geographical areas, preventing some from addressing and even accepting the issue of climate change.

This report is part of the Pulitzer Center project "Latin America: Climate Pains" (http://bit.ly/Ok2Yc0).
